The visionary
Lisa Franklin is an award-winning skincare expert, product developer and nutritionist whose vision extends beyond traditional aesthetics to encompass a more connected approach to health, beauty and wellbeing.
Through years of treating clients and developing personalised skincare solutions, Lisa recognised that concerns such as skin ageing, hair thinning, dry eyes, hormonal changes and emotional wellbeing are often interconnected. This understanding led to the creation of Clinic Privé and its Five Pillars of Wellbeing — Skin, Eyes, Hair, Body and Mind.
Today, she leads a multidisciplinary team of specialists delivering Advanced Treatments (bc9.co) across all five pillars, combining regenerative medicine, wellness and aesthetics to support visible transformation, renewed confidence and long-term wellbeing.

LEARN MORE
Lisa Franklin is the founder of Lisa Franklin London and Clinic Privé. Her approach is rooted in the belief that skin health is intrinsically linked to overall wellbeing, and that lasting transformation comes from understanding the connection between how we look, feel, and function.
What began as a vision to combine clinical expertise with personalised care has evolved into a multidisciplinary destination for advanced aesthetics, regenerative medicine, and holistic wellness. Guided by Lisa’s belief that concerns such as skin ageing, hair thinning, dry eyes, hormonal changes, and emotional wellbeing are often interconnected, she developed the Five Pillars of Wellbeing: Skin, Eyes, Hair, Body and Mind.
Today, these pillars form the foundation of Clinic Privé, bringing together specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver personalised treatment journeys that support both visible results and long-term wellbeing. Lisa Franklin London is also proud to be a certified B Corporation, recognised for its commitment to ethical practices, sustainability, and purposeful innovation in beauty and wellness.
The Five Pillars of Wellbeing form the foundation of our approach to health, beauty, and longevity. Created by Lisa Franklin, they reflect the belief that concerns such as skin ageing, hair thinning, dry eyes, hormonal changes, body confidence, and emotional wellbeing are often interconnected and should not be treated in isolation.
Our five pillars — Skin, Eyes, Hair, Body, and Mind — bring together specialists across advanced aesthetics, regenerative medicine, eye health, women’s health, nutrition, wellness, and hair restoration. By working across these disciplines, we are able to create more personalised treatment journeys that address both visible concerns and the underlying factors that may be influencing them.
This integrated approach sits at the heart of Clinic Privé, helping our clients achieve not only visible transformation, but also greater confidence, balance, and long-term wellbeing.
At Clinic Privé, we believe lasting transformation rarely comes from addressing a single concern in isolation. Skin health, eye health, hair vitality, hormonal balance, body confidence, and emotional wellbeing are often interconnected, which is why our approach extends beyond traditional aesthetics alone.
Guided by the Five Pillars our multidisciplinary team brings together expertise in advanced aesthetics, regenerative medicine, women’s health, eye health, hair restoration, nutrition, and wellness. This allows us to create personalised treatment journeys that address both visible concerns and the underlying factors that may be influencing them.
The result is a more integrated approach to health, beauty, and longevity, helping our clients achieve visible results, renewed confidence, and long-term wellbeing.

non-surgical-facelifts

The Benefits of Non-Surgical Facelifts: A Comprehensive Guide
Aging is a natural process that brings about changes in the skin and facial structure. While traditional surgical facelifts have long been the go-to solution for combating these signs of aging, there is a growing interest in non-surgical facelifts. These procedures, primarily using injectables, offer a range of benefits without the need for invasive surgery. This comprehensive guide will explore the advantages of non-surgical facelifts and why they are becoming a popular choice for those seeking to rejuvenate their appearance.
A non-surgical facelift involves using a combination of injectable treatments to lift, firm, and rejuvenate the face. These treatments typically include dermal Fillers (https://steroids-uk.com/), Botox, and other advanced injectables. Unlike a traditional surgical facelift, which involves cutting and suturing skin, a non-surgical facelift uses minimally invasive techniques to achieve similar results.
Minimal Downtime: One of the most significant advantages of a non-surgical facelift is the minimal downtime associated with the procedure. Traditional surgical facelifts require a lengthy recovery period, often involving swelling, bruising, and discomfort. In contrast, non-surgical facelifts allow patients to return to their daily activities almost immediately. Most injectable treatments are completed within an hour, making them an ideal option for those with busy schedules.
Lower Risk: Non-surgical facelifts carry fewer risks compared to surgical procedures. There is no need for general anesthesia, which reduces the risk of complications associated with anesthesia. Additionally, the minimally invasive nature of injectable treatments means there is less risk of infection, scarring, and other surgical complications.
Natural Looking Results: Injectables used in non-surgical facelifts can provide subtle, natural-looking results. Dermal fillers can restore volume and smooth out wrinkles, while Botox can relax facial muscles to reduce the appearance of lines and creases. Because the changes are gradual and tailored to the individual's needs, the outcome often looks more natural compared to the more dramatic results of a surgical facelift.
Customizable Treatments: Non-surgical facelifts offer a high degree of customization. Practitioners can use a variety of injectables to target specific areas of concern, such as sagging cheeks, hollow temples, or deep nasolabial folds. This flexibility allows for a personalized approach that addresses the unique aging patterns of each patient.
Immediate Results: Another benefit of non-surgical facelifts is the immediacy of the results. While surgical facelifts require weeks to months for the final results to be visible, injectables often show noticeable improvements right away. Dermal fillers provide instant volume and lift, and while Botox takes a few days to fully take effect, the overall transformation is relatively quick.
Cost-Effective: Non-surgical facelifts are generally more cost-effective than traditional surgical facelifts. Surgical procedures can be expensive, not only because of the surgery itself but also due to the associated costs of anesthesia, operating room fees, and post-operative care. Non-surgical options typically involve fewer expenses, making them accessible to a broader range of patients.
Dermal Fillers: Dermal fillers, such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra, are used to restore lost volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. They are particularly effective in areas like the cheeks, lips, and under-eye hollows. Hyaluronic acid fillers provide immediate results, while collagen-stimulating fillers offer gradual improvements over time.
Baby Botox: Baby Botox is used to relax facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, such as frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. By temporarily paralyzing these muscles, Botox smooths out the skin and prevents new wrinkles from forming.
Thread Lifts: Thread lifts involve inserting dissolvable threads under the skin to lift and tighten sagging areas. The threads stimulate collagen production, which further enhances the lifting effect over time. This treatment is often used in conjunction with dermal fillers and Botox for comprehensive rejuvenation.
Aqualyx: An injectable treatment specifically designed to reduce submental fat, commonly known as a double chin. By breaking down fat cells, Aqualyx helps to create a more defined and contoured jawline.
For the best results, non-surgical facelifts often involve a combination of different injectable treatments. This multi-faceted approach allows practitioners to address multiple signs of aging simultaneously, providing a more comprehensive rejuvenation. For example, combining dermal fillers with Botox can smooth out wrinkles, restore volume, and lift sagging skin, resulting in a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
With minimal downtime, lower risk, natural-looking results, and customizable treatments, injectables provide an effective and convenient alternative to traditional facelifts. If you're considering a non-surgical facelift, consult with a qualified practitioner to explore the best options for your needs and achieve the rejuvenated, youthful appearance you desire. Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions
Chemical skin peels are a solution applied to the face or body with active ingredients designed to exfoliate, stimulate collagen and elastin production to encourage cell turnover, leaving skin softer, clearer, with a more even skin tone.
Their patented carrier-solution delivers greater absorption of the active ingredients into the skin, and this deep-acting technology reduces trauma to the surface of the skin and increases the rate of exfoliation for better results. Chemical peels contain different types of acid, including AHAs (glycolic, lactic and citric acids) and BHAs (salicylic acid), and produce varying levels of chemical exfoliation to treat different conditions, and can be superficial, medium or deep-acting.
At sk:n we have a wide variety of skin peels, including advanced Enerpeel, Obagi, Epionce and Medik8.
Superficial peels
Superficial skin peels act on the epidermis, which is the top layer of the skin. Typically, these peels will be left on your skin for just a few minutes, and will exfoliate the upper layer of the skin for a more gentle treatment to leave your skin smoother and glowy. There is less downtime with these types of skin peels, and as the results are less dramatic after one peel, we recommend an on-going treatment plan to maintain results.
Medium peels
Medium peels deepl exfoliate the skin, encouraging new cell growth, and increase collagen production for renewed, younger-looking, smoother skin. A solution is applied that works on the the top and slightly deeper layers of the skin. You may experience tingling and some redness for a few days after treatment. Examples of medium peels at sk:n include Jessner, pyruvic and salicylic acids.
Deep peels
Deep peels are recommended for more severe skin concerns such as deep facial wrinkles, heavy sun damage or acne scars, and give more dramatic longer-lasting results but often take longer for the skin to recover. Side effects include tingling, peeling, redness and swelling, which are normal.
Skin peels can improve a number of concerns including acne, acne scarring, sun damage, age spots, hyperpigmentation, the signs of ageing or uneven skin tone and texture. Depending on the skin peel, the recovery time can be minimal or take a little longer; having a deeper peel may mean that the skin takes a little longer to heal as typically there is more «peeling», but the results are more pronounced.
Skin peels are suitable for a lot of people and can treat a whole range of skin concerns, including wrinkles, fine lines, acne and acne scarring, age spots, Enlarged Pores (have a peek at this website), dark areas and sun-damaged skin. Chemical peels are ideal if you are looking to, quite literally, give your skin a fresh start, but suitability for a skin peel will depend on the nature or severity of the concern, orother factors, and your skin type can also determine the right skin peel for you. Book a consultation with one of our skin experts to discuss which skin peel is best for you.
Depending on your concern and the type of peel, chemical skin peels can be used on the face and body, including the delicate area around the eyes, face, hands, neck and décolletage. Consultations for a facial skin peel are free with a nurse or practitioner, but will incur a fee if your consultation is with a doctor for face and body peels.
Yes, of course. Skin peels at sk:n are completely safe. All of our treatments are tested on all skin types and skin concerns: first by the manufacturers and suppliers, then by our Medical Standards Team. Everyone at sk:n who delivers a skin peel will also have thorough medical training, so you can be sure you’re in the best and safest hands. During treatment, your eyes and hair will be protected, and depending on the peel or your skin type, we always recommend preparing your skin with applicable skincare in advance too. To find out more about the right skin peel programme for you, book a consultation with a skin specialist.
Due to the active ingredients working on your skin, you may experience a slight tingling sensation as the chemical peel works during your treatment, but this is completely normal. We never leave skin peels on the skin for longer than indicated, and we will neutralise the skin after the peel is removed to ensure any tingling sensations are minimised. Following treatment, we’ll always recommend the right at-home skincare to not only care for your skin following treatment, but to make sure you get the best results.
Preparation before your skin peel depends on the peel we recommend for your skin concern and your skin type. Some peels require skincare before you have treatment and some do not. We will always let you know if you need to prepare during your consultation, and will recommend the right skincare to do so.
A non-toxic chemical solution is applied to the skin surface, which is then absorbed, releasing the active acids to treat the relevant skin concern. You may feel a slight tingling sensation while the natural ingredients get to work, and some peels can lead to light swelling of the affected area or peeling of the skin for a few days after the procedure. Choosing a well-trained expert means you’ll get the right advice on the right type of peel for you, and we’ll tailor your treatment plan for your skin concerns and goals.
After starting your skin peel programme, your skin will feel softer, with improved texture and tone and look subtly younger. Depending on the chemical peel and your skin concern, you may experience redness or peeling, and your skin will improve as it heals. At sk:n we pride ourselves in delivering the best care, so afterwards, we’ll recommend that you take home the right skincare to care for your skin, with on-going regular treatments for the best results.
Generally, chemical peels are suitable for all skin types, but this depends on the type of skin peel you’re looking for. Medium and deep chemical peels are often not suitable for clients with Fitzpatrick type VI skin, because deeper chemical peels come with an increased risk of hyperpigmentation in skin types IV, V and VI. That said, there are superficial and some medium-depth peels that are suitable for darker skin. Your skin specialist will discuss which skin peels are suitable for you during your consultation.

Botox FAQs

<h2 />
What Is Botox?
Botox is the brand name for botulinum toxin type A, a muscle relaxer that's been used for decades to treat a variety of medical conditions and for cosmetic reasons. Botox injections are made from onobotulinum toxin type A.
Botox is most commonly used as an injectable cosmetic treatment to smooth the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles, most commonly to reduce forehead wrinkles and forehead lines, crow's feet and frown lines. It can also be used to treat medical conditions and certain disorders such as chronic migraines and headaches, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), overactive bladder and a lazy eye. For a more detailed view of what Botox is and how it works please click here to read our Botox FAQ.
How Does Botox Work?
Botox is a purified protein that’s injected into muscles to relax them by blocking certain chemical signals from nerves that cause muscle contractions. It’s made from Clostridium botulinum toxin and has been used for medical and cosmetic purposes since the 1980s. Botox injections are often used to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause facial wrinkles, but it can also be helpful in treating other areas of the body, such as underarms, neck and hands.
Botox was originally discovered by scientists who were studying bacteria called Clostridium botulinum in the 1970s. This type of bacteria occurs naturally in soil and water, which means that if you eat food that contains it without properly cooking it first (like improperly prepared fish or eggs), you could become ill or even die! But when used properly by a medical practitioner such as a licensed doctor, dentist or nurse practitioner, this toxin can help eliminate wrinkles on your face while keeping them safe from harm too!
To find out more about how Botox works please read our full 'How Does Botox Work?' guide.
What Is Botulinum Toxin?
Botox is a brand name for onobotulinumtoxin type A (botulinum toxin), a neurotoxic protein that is injected into specific muscles with a thin needle to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Botulinum Toxin injections prevent the release of certain chemical signals and messengers coming from nerves which provide a temporary reduction in muscle contraction and movement.
Other brands of botulinum toxin available in the UK include Bocouture, Azzalure, Letybo and Nuceiva. New brands are emerging, but these are currently the most well-established and widely used. They are all approved for cosmetic use in adults.
What Areas Can Be Treated With Botox?
Botox can be used to treat a variety of conditions. Some of the most common uses for Botox include:
Botox For Your Frown or Glabella Lines
Botox For Crow’s Feet
Botox For Bunny Lines
Botox For Forehead Lines
Botox For Dimpled Chin
Botox For Smile Lines
Botox For Neck Bands
Botox For Gummy Smile
It can also be used to treat:
Botox for Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
Botox For Migraines
Botox For Overactive Bladder
For more detailed information on the areas that can treat Botox please view our guide.
What Does A Botox Treatment Feel Like?
You will feel nothing at all when Botox is being injected into your skin. It is a very quick process, and patients typically feel no pain during their treatment. The entire procedure takes only a few minutes to complete and involves an injection of a small amount of Botox into the area that needs it. The medication works to temporarily relax muscles that cause wrinkles, which gives you smoother skin for up to four months before any further treatments are needed.
What Are The Risks Of Having Botox Injections?
Allergic reactions: A small percentage of people develop an allergic reaction to Botox. However, an allergic reaction to Botox is very rare. Symptoms can include redness, burning, itching and swelling at the injection site. If you experience a severe reaction after getting Botox and have trouble breathing, double vision, or trouble swallowing, contact your medical practitioner immediately and seek medical attention.
Droopy eyelids: It's not uncommon for patients to develop droopy eyelids, also called ptosis, after getting Botox injections in their forehead area (glabellar). Apart from waiting, your medical practitioner can give you eyedrops to help with droopy eyelids or administer more Botox to counteract relaxed muscles. Droopy eyelids may negatively affect your confidence but will typically only last for four to six weeks.
Dry mouth: Masseter treatment with Botox could potentially cause temporary dry mouth. It's unlikely to cause such a side effect if you had a treatment in the upper face. Side effects like this more commonly occur among men than women and usually last only a few days following treatment, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). If dry mouth continues beyond that point or becomes unbearable while it lasts then you may need additional medication like lip balm or throat lozenges until it goes away completely — but don't worry — this isn't permanent!
How Soon Will I See The Results?
The process of Botox injection takes only a few minutes and you can return to your normal activities immediately.
The results of Botox will begin to be visible within days of the treatment, with the full effects being evident within two weeks.
How Long Do Results Last?
No one knows how long Botox For Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis) lasts. It varies from person to person and from area to area. Generally speaking, it lasts between three and six months. The most important thing is not how long it lasts but whether or not you are happy with the results.
Who Can Have Botox Injections In Ilfracombe?
Botox is safe for most people, but there are some groups of people who should not have Botox.
People with certain neuromuscular disorders such as Myasthenia Gravis
People who are taking certain muscle relaxants and certain antibiotics
People with inflammation or infection at the potential treatment site
Pregnant women: The solution to this problem is simple — women who are pregnant should not take Botox.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding. There is not enough data to suggest if it's safe to use botox while pregnant or breastfeeding, It is best to be on the safe side and avoid treatment while you are pregnant or breastfeeding
People with certain conditions: People with bleeding disorders, such as haemophilia or von Willebrand disease, should not have any kind of injectable medication because it can cause them to bleed excessively or even die from an internal haemorrhage or an injury caused by uncontrolled bleeding after injection. In addition, anyone who has had previous reactions to botulinum toxin (also known as Botox) injections or any other injectable medications should not receive another injection when it is done under local anaesthesia because those symptoms will return if you have another one and could be worse than before the first time around!
When Should I Start Getting Botox Injections?
It's best to start your treatment when you want to prevent the earliest visible fine lines and wrinkles from becoming deep and visible. While botox treatment has been approved for people age 18+, it’s best to start your treatment in your late twenties or early thirties, or when you begin to notice the early signs of ageing.
The best time to start is before you have wrinkles since it's easier to treat wrinkles when they're still developing.
How Long Does The Treatment Take?
Getting botox treatment takes only a few minutes but can vary depending on the treatment area. It's injected with a fine needle into the muscles after they are assessed on animation by your medical practitioner to help find the right injection points.
The treatment takes about minutes.

Yes, you can go back to work after having Botox treatments. In fact, most people do just that! You rarely may have some mild bruising and swelling associated with the treatment. This is usually gone within a few days but if it doesn't go away or becomes worse, make sure to call your doctor.
It's important not to wear make-up for at least 24 hours. You can also use cold packs and arnica cream (available online) to reduce bruising, swelling and redness of the skin around your eyes.

Applying skin care products or makeup for the next 24 hours
Rubbing or massaging the treatment area
Doing strenuous exercise that potentially can make you hot and sweaty
Going into saunas, spas, hot and steamy environment
Using retin-A, alpha hydroxy or glycolic acids on your skin

Will I Look Unnatural After Getting Injections Of Botox?
Botox will not make you look unnatural. It is possible to overdo Botox, but this would just result in an overly frozen appearance and not any sort of unnaturalness. The idea that Botox makes you look frozen is a myth, as the effect is actually very subtle and natural looking.
In terms of looking like a different person, the only way someone could tell is if they had seen you before getting Botox and then saw you again after it was injected—and even then it's hard to say if what they saw was really an undeniable difference or just something they «think» they see because they were told by someone else (or read on the internet) that there should be one! This can lead people into believing that their loved ones will suddenly transform completely once they start getting injections regularly—but there's no reason why this would happen unless those loved ones had already been anticipating such a drastic change beforehand… which seems unlikely given how subtle the effects are overall!
The same applies to age: If friends start noticing that everyone around them seems younger than usual (and therefore assume it must be due to something going on inside), maybe we need more Botox ourselves? No one can see themselves getting older in real-time anyway… so why worry about what other people might think?
Are There Side Effects To Getting Botox? Is Botox Safe?
Yes. However, the possible side effects are rare and usually only last a few days.
The most common side effect is bruising at the injection site. This can take anywhere from a few hours up to a week to go away with no permanent damage.
Other less common but more serious complications include:
Nerve injury affecting swallowing or breathing
Dry mouth (which usually goes away after about 3 weeks)
How Often Can I Have Botox Injections?
The answer to this question comes down to two factors: how long Botox takes to wear off and how quickly your muscles replenish themselves.
Botox will typically last between three months and four months. As soon as you stop getting injections, your muscles will start growing back to their normal strength; this process takes a few months.
